Satan wants to box you in and convince you that feeling remorseful (”I’m sorry I got caught”) is better than being repentant (I’m sorry I sinned”). When you’ve sinned and you know it and you’re not willing to admit it, giving up is really your only option since you can’t live a duplicitous life as a disciple.”
