Nugget of Truth: Casanova
This film took a little patience, but was quite funny. There were many one liners that had me rolling... most from Jeremy Iron's character. So, Casanova (a woman's man known for his many conquests) is living in Venice. Jeremy Irons is the head of the Inquisition trying to find Casanova and charge him. At one point they capture the wrong person, thinking he is Casanova and start questioning him. The person who is doing the questioning/torture tells Jeremy Iron's character that this man is confused. Jeremy Iron's respone is our Nugget of Truth:
"Fornication on a massive scale leads to confusion."
Oh, so so true. Though, it is not the only source of confusion, to be sure. (Most issues on a massive or small scale can lead to confusion.) This world is so obessed with sex. Relationships are about a lifetime, not a moment. People have become objects to use, not to cherish. **God did not create us to be confused fornicators!!** What a shallow and unwholesome life that would be.
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Colossians 3:5
God created us to be in relationships. First with Him, then with others. When it comes to what women are looking for... truly looking for... it is a man of God who is not afraid to be a man. BUT! He must be a man strong in faith... it is ok to be confused about the other stuff. If you want a good woman... you don't have to be Mr. Casanova, just be who God made you to be: His child.
I will close with a line said by the female lead in the film:
"Give me a man who is man enough to give himself just to the woman who is worth him. If that woman were me, I would love him alone and forever."
