30 Days of Praise: Day 2 - Shadows

Ok... so I know this is a strange praise, but follow me with this. Last night as I was sitting on stage playing cello at Night of Worship I kept seeing a shadow come over my music. There are a lot of lights on us, but I knew at once where it was coming from. My heart leaped for joy when I realized. Jim was standing behind me. Jim is an ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter.

I came to understand that Jim's movements, though looking like poor shadow puppets to me, were drawing others in to worship. As I watched the shadows move, I became so grateful for Jim's talent. I praise God for giving him the skill to learn another language. He gives us these skills for His glory, not our own. I praise Jim for using those talents to reach out to those who can so often seem forgotten. I look forward to tonight when I get to see those shadows again!

I would always prefer the Sat 6:30 service so I could watch Jim sign. There is something amazingly beautiful. I think its because it involves his whole body. Watching him sign the sermon was like watching a play. So great!
