Ever been in a funk only God can release you from?

I have been in a little funk since returning from vacation. Was it leaving Disney? My family? Coming back to the real world? Uncertainity of things to come at work, in relationships, in myself? A little bit of it all. It made me a bit edgy and emotional.

But last night I went outside and it was the most beautiful, calming sunset. Shortly after was a miraculous moonrise over the mountains in the middle of 2 trees. The peace in that moment. I wish it would have lasted... but today I was in the funky mood again. Something happened that hit that button again.

Reading the following scripture brought me out again.

O you who hear prayer,
to you all men will come.

When we were overwhelmed by sins,
you forgave our transgressions.

Blessed are those you choose
and bring near to live in your courts!
We are filled with the good things of your house,
of your holy temple.

You answer us with awesome deeds of righteousness,
O God our Savior,
the hope of all the ends of the earth
and of the farthest seas,

who formed the mountains by your power,
having armed yourself with strength,

who stilled the roaring of the seas,
the roaring of their waves,
and the turmoil of the nations.

Those living far away fear your wonders;
where morning dawns and evening fades
you call forth songs of joy.

Psalm 65: 2-8

Only in God does this funk fade and disappear. Thank you Lord. Bring back to me those songs of joy to You.

I think it's a girl thing. These ups and downs in our moods. Why can't we just live at Disneyland? This real world stuff gets tough after a while...
