The Week Ahead

It is like standing at the top of ski jump, with your skies half off and you are about to drop. You know it is going to be exhilarating, exciting, and hard. The ride is going to be fast the launch amazing, but there is that landing on the other side. You set off on the jump knowing you are going to have to land on your feet on the other side. That is this week for me. I have today to prepare, stretch, and get my head in the game. Today I will set my focus not on the tasks ahead, but what I need to stick the landing.

Monday I have work all day, then my small group Christmas party. Tuesday is our team day at work (meaning we will not be in the office, but out as a team doing fun stuff), then I have dress rehearsal for The Journey. The Journey is a Christmas musical at church. Wednesday thru Friday I have work all day and then The Journey at night. Saturday I am taking a road trip with a friend (who didn't want to travel alone) to see a friend of hers and Sunday we return. That is a break down of my jump. I so look forward to each part of it. I love playing The Journey. I love my job. I love my Small Group. And I love spending time with my friend. All fun and life giving things, but all draining as well. Please pray for me to have the strength and energy to make it through this week and land on my feet.

Yesterday the preacher mentioned that finding Rest in God doesn't always mean sleep or deep meditation. Sometimes it is like resting your weight on a stool or a cane. Oh Lord, be who I rest my strength on this week and let's have an amazing jump.

Tina, I absolutely LOVE your description. Life is so thrilling, yet requires strenuous effort. I feel you - joyous activities can become draining when you just have too much.

Where did you get that awesome picture?!
